Summary of Macbeth [Example] Student Post
3. Write a summary of the story and choose one relevant quote in the text to describe it further.
Shakespeare's Macbeth starts off with two war heroes Banquo, and Macbeth. The pair are confronted by three witches who claim that Macbeth will be the king and Thane of Cawdor, while Banquo's descendants will also sit on the throne in Scotland. Once arriving back to Scotland, Macbeth is named the Thane, so he begins to believe that he will be king. To become king, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth kill King Duncan. Macbeth becomes king soon after, and becomes set on killing Banquo's family, so they can never sit on the throne. Banquo's son survives the attacks. King Duncan's sons soon become suspicious that Macbeth murdered their father, so they send armies after him. In the end, Macduff kills Macbeth, and Banquo's son takes the throne. A quote that fits this story well would be "Fair is foul, and foul is fair." Macbeth was once a fair and good person, but becomes someone who is foul and ruinous.

[Example Comment] I enjoyed the video; it explains the summary of the story well. I agree with you that Macbeth was a seemingly good character that turned 'bad' due to his evil ambitions. If stories about ambition causing people to make heinous decisions interest you, I would suggest reading another one of Shakespeare's stories, named Julius Caesar. In that story a Roman leader is taken down by those who are jealous of him and wish to have his power. Great analysis of the story! :)
